The Yaesu FC-50 External Antenna Tuner is a compact automatic antenna matching unit engineered for seamless integration with portable HF transceivers such as the FT-891. Designed for rapid impedance matching across the HF and 6m amateur bands, the FC-50 enables efficient transmission through non-resonant antenna systems without requiring manual tuning adjustments.

Utilizing a high-speed microprocessor-controlled matching network, the FC-50 automatically tunes antenna impedance to achieve optimal SWR performance—improving transmitter efficiency and minimizing reflected power during multi-band HF operation.

With weather-resistant construction and remote mounting capability, the FC-50 is suitable for:

  • Portable Field Deployment (POTA / SOTA)

  • Mobile HF Operation

  • Temporary Base Installations

  • Outdoor Antenna Systems

The tuner can be installed near the antenna feedpoint for improved matching performance—especially when operating with end-fed wires, mobile whips, or shortened vertical antennas.
