The ICOM ID-52A is a premium dual-band VHF/UHF handheld transceiver supporting both D-STAR digital voice (DV) and conventional analog FM communication across the 2m and 70cm amateur bands. Designed for advanced amateur radio operators, the ID-52A integrates modern SDR-based signal processing with Icom’s globally adopted D-STAR infrastructure for wide-area digital communication.

Featuring a large 2.3-inch full-color transflective display with real-time waterfall band scope, the ID-52A provides enhanced situational awareness of band activity—an industry-first implementation in a portable VHF/UHF handheld transceiver.

Built-in Bluetooth® connectivity, GPS/GLONASS positioning, and microSD card support allow operators to transmit digital voice along with GPS location data, short messages, and even images across the D-STAR network.

With support for Terminal Mode and Access Point Mode, the ID-52A enables internet-linked D-STAR communication via PC or smartphone when RF repeater access is unavailable—making it suitable for portable digital deployments and emergency communication scenarios.
