The ICOM ID-50A is a compact dual-band VHF/UHF handheld transceiver engineered for seamless D-STAR digital voice (DV) and conventional analog FM communication across the 2m and 70cm amateur bands. Designed as a portable digital companion, the ID-50A enables worldwide communication through Icom’s globally deployed D-STAR network infrastructure—allowing operators to link with repeaters and users across cities, regions, and continents.

Featuring an integrated real-time band scope with waterfall display, the ID-50A allows operators to visually identify active frequencies and monitor band activity directly from the handheld interface.

With support for Terminal Mode and Access Point Mode, the ID-50A can connect to a PC or Android device to establish internet-linked D-STAR communication—even in locations without RF repeater coverage.

Additional features such as Dualwatch operation, D-STAR text messaging, and integrated VHF Airband and FM broadcast reception make the ID-50A suitable for both portable field deployments and everyday handheld operation.
