The ICOM AH-705 is a compact microprocessor-controlled automatic antenna tuner engineered specifically for portable QRP operation with the IC-705. Designed for efficient impedance matching across the HF and 6m amateur bands, the AH-705 enables stable transmission through non-resonant antenna systems such as long-wire antennas, dipoles, verticals, and portable whips—without requiring manual tuning.

Supporting automatic matching across 1.8 MHz to 54 MHz, the AH-705 utilizes a relay-switched matching network to optimize SWR performance—minimizing reflected power and improving radiation efficiency during portable HF deployment.

With an IP54-rated weather-resistant enclosure, the tuner can be installed close to the antenna feedpoint—enhancing matching efficiency in field environments such as:

  • POTA / SOTA Activations

  • Emergency Communication Setups

  • Portable Long-Wire Deployments

  • Mobile HF Stations

The AH-705 supports both 50 Ω coaxial antennas and end-fed wire antennas via its supplied terminal connector—making it suitable for rapid portable HF deployment.
