The AH-705 offers dual power sourcing options for enhanced flexibility. It can operate on two AA alkaline batteries (3.0 V DC) for portable use or can be powered by an external 13.8 V DC supply. When using an external power source, it's important to connect directly to the tuner, bypassing the IC-705 transceiver, to ensure proper operation.

Designed for full automatic tuning, the AH-705 simplifies the tuning process—operators need only to press the [TUNER] button on the IC-705 to initiate tuning. The tuner employs latching relays, which help conserve power consumption during operation.
