As of 2019, the G-5500DC features DC motors operating on two independent 22 V DC control lines, each requiring a five-wire system. This update renders the new DC controllers incompatible with older AC rotator motors and vice versa. However, existing cable assemblies remain compatible with the new G-5500DC components, utilizing pins 1 through 5 in each connector.
